Some of my favourite introductory shades to start incorporating colour into your homes.

Sulking room Pink- Farrow & Ball
This muted pink tone gives a soft, powdery feel making it a great way to incorporate a pop of colour into your home. Sulking room pink offers a soft muted rose with warm undertones that compliments many other colours beautifully. If you’re looking to add a complimentary colour, Try a green tone for a warm natural feel or a charcoal/ blue for a modern classic look.

Aged Vellum- Colourtrend
If you’re looking for a colour to compliment neutrals shades in your home, Greens are a great place to start & Aged Vellum from Colourtrend is the perfect shade for this, offering both an olive and a grey undertone it pairs beautifully with any neutral tone you may have whether it be a grey or beige. Aged vellum will offer a gorgeous natural hint of colour to any space.

Rolling Fog – Little Greene
If you want to add a rich depth of colour to a space but don’t want to move too far away from the neutral shade scale, Rolling Fog – Dark is the perfect colour for you. This rich beige colour offers a warm brown undertone to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere, that envelops any space.

Adding a pop of colour into your home.
Colour blocking is a great way to create visually striking areas in the home. By selecting complementary colours and applying them in a clearly defined area for a striking contrast. Adding a feature wall is a great option for this such as a chimney breast wall or back wall of a bedroom in which the headboard sits. By keeping a colour on one specific wall in a room and paired with a more neutral shade can offer a focal point in the room and can create a beautiful contrast to the rest of the of the room.

Another option to add a pop of colour is with furniture upcycling. By painting an old piece of furniture, you can add the perfect amount of colour whilst giving your piece of furniture a new lease of life. With the right products and preparation, you can achieve a gorgeous finish easily. Colour options are endless whether you prefer a depth of colour to compliment your existing colour palette or want a bold element of colour to create a striking contrast.

The word Bold covers something being courageous, challenging, imaginative, possible danger and other scenarios depending on how it is used.

My bold choices to incorporate into your home Your front door colour can say a lot about your personality! A muted tone, a traditional option or perhaps being a little more adventurous. Introducing a bolder choice on your front door is a simple way to incorporate colour to your home without feeling overpowered.

Colour blocking creates a bold statement by highlighting one area against another with contrasting tones. Optimist by Curator uses it vibrant yellow to highlight the doors and corresponding pillar. By having the walls in a soft off white it allows balance to boldness of colour choice.

Colour Drenching is fully enveloping a space with the one colour, or a combination of similar tones on all aspects of a room. By having a room saturated in the one tone it adds a calmness and warmth to any space. Whether your colour of choice is an off white or a strong burgundy – it is a bold statement to make.

Elevate your interior with help of using bold paint colours!

They create a striking presence to your interior by adding depth and sophistication.

Dark colours create atmosphere and by pairing soft furnishings in lighter contrasting toned fabrics and textures can often soften the mood if you feel your interior is too dark.

Using mirrors to reflect light and the clever use of lighting i.e.. Table lamps, standing lamps, wall lights can really add ambience to your interior.

A personal favourite of mine is Sweet Caper by Colourtrend. A deep, rich earthy green. It has hidden warm treasured tones. Colour drenching can work wonders with this colour creating a dramatic luxurious interior or pairing Sweet Caper with Cherished White a muted rich neutral white by Colourtrend on the skirtings/architraves and ceilings, it will contrast lovely and will frame the Sweet Caper. This colour is very versatile it can create a cosy snug room or can work well when used on kitchen cabinets!

Paint Finishes play an important part when using bold colours. Interior matt has a decadent plush look whilst a soft sheen has an ever so slight light reflective quality very useful in a room with very little light coming in.
So embrace bold colours make them work for you and your home interior will thank you!
